Welcome to the Gold Coast
World-renowned beaches, balmy weather, World Heritage-listed rainforest and glimpses of rural Australia add up to one of the nation's leading tourism regions - Australia's Gold Coast.

The 5,000 sq km (1930.50 sq miles) region encompasses 70 km (43.5 miles) of coastline. Including some 35 white sand beaches patrolled by surf lifesavers throughout the year and washed by the warm pristine waters of the Pacific Ocean. The region's vast rainforest hinterland is home to World Heritage wilderness areas, national parks and quaint rural villages all within 30 minutes of the Central Gold Coast.

Getting to the Gold Coast

Air
Australia's Gold Coast is accessible by two Airports. The Brisbane International Airport and the Gold Coast Airport (Coolongatta) are both serviced by international and domestic airlines.

Located less than one hour north of the Gold Coast, Brisbane is the main international airport servicing South East Queensland. Connected by fast access using the Pacific Motorway and Airtrain, Brisbane's world-class airport rail link, it creates a seamless connection between Brisbane International Airport and the Gold Coast.

Coolongatta Airport is conveniently located half an hour south of the main accommodation precinct of Surfers Paradise. For transfer operators servicing Coolongatta Airport please visit www.goldcoastairport.com.au/transfers.php

Rail
Trains do not run along the coast but they are an excellent way to reach the Gold Coast from Brisbane. It takes only one hour by train from Brisbane to reach the Gold Coast. For more information on routes and timetables visit the Queensland Rail website www.qr.com.au

Road
The Gold Coast is one hour by road south of Brisbane. Several bus companies service the Gold Coast, with regular services to Brisbane and other parts of the state.
